· 1) I could take out the stock temp sensor (3/8") and use a reducer to put it in on the engine side of the termostat housing. This would be the stock location. 2) I could get one of these, and put it on the upper or lower radiator hose. This would give me the temp of the coolant in the radiator if the stat was closed. 3) I could get one of these, and put it in the heater hose. I have the heater bypassed, so the coolant …

· You can use a sensor in the heater hose using the adapter Autometer makes. Just have to run a ground wire to an engine ground. I use one on my 71 for an additional temp gauge. Reactions: rpm. If you are relocating a stock sensor to the radiator hose, it may be necessary to lengthen the stock connector by splicing in a section of wire (not included) in order for it to reach. Grounding the Sensor Most temperature sensors require a signal wire and a ground. Some sensors provide their own ground, in …
· what sensor is in the metal tubing that goes to the heater core? its a few inches from where it comes out of the intake. i bypassed the heater hoses completly and unplugged the sensor, now my check engine light is on.
Before disconnecting any hose shut heater off start engine and take a temp reading on both hoses going to the heater core if temp if the SAME in both hoses your core is not plug you may have problems in the blend doors if temp in hoses are too different just flushed with rad flush fill up use air shop no more than 18psi blow out and use garden hose to flush both ways good luck
Remove the heater hoses of the heater core and join the two hoses together and clamp securely Now place a garden hose on one of the heater pipes an see if the water flows out of the other pipe . If not turn on the heater control and see if it does. If not run the engine and move the control and if you still do not get a flow then the fault will be in the control, selector switch or the tap ...
Temperature sensors that can take the heat. Temperature is playing a vital role in many industrial processes and therefore an accurate measurement is a must. Non-accurate temperatures can cause big fatal consequences such as reducing the lifetime of your equipment if overheated with just a few degrees. The Danfoss range includes temperature sensors, and transmitters, and helps you make a ...
· Sensor/switch on the heater return hose... Clay Autery Posting Freak. Posts: 1,063. Joined: Jan 2002 #1. 12-16-2002, 12:20 AM . What is that? Is that the dual fan temp switch or (god forbid) the Engine Coolant Temp sensor? I don't have a heater in the plan for my current build up, and won't be using the stock fan control circuitry... So if that's the fan switch, I can dump it... If it's a temp ...
· My SBC radiator has an extra fitting that looks like its for a temp sensor, but I've never checked to see if it would work. I'm surprised that highway temps are at 150-160. I have a 195 degree high flow thermostat in my SBC, and it also has the heater return hose running to the radiator. During the winter when we had temps around 25-30 degrees ...

· Most bypass a little water before they open, but is it enough to get a good reading, and/or does that matter. Once it is open it would be reading the correct water temp for sure. Just remembered that some early 289/302 engines have a sensor in the thermostat housing, which would put it past the stat. I don't think it is a gauge sensor however.

· On the 84 cj8 that I am fixing up I am using a 99 TJ motor but a 93 XJ sensors, wiring and injector parts. The 99 doesn't have the rear temperature sensor hole drilled into the head. Have any of you drilled out the head for the sensor or should I mount it in the heater hose with an adapter ...
Connect hoses to appropriate heater fluid outlets. c. Plug sensor cable (SC) and electrical connector (EC) from hose heat control into mating connectors on first length of heated hose. See F IG. 5. Be sure cables have slack when hose bends. Wrap cable and electrical connections with electrical tape. d. See FIG. 3. Install jumper (102) in elec-
· With the ECU Temp sensor attached to the heater, do you find that the engine runs rich? The reason I ask is if the coolant is not flowing through the heater hose, the ECU sensor might read a lower temperature then the engines actual temp. Do you find this to be a problem at all? I was planning on placing my ECU sensor on the heater hose as well. Regards, Carl Sent from App …
