During the yarn processing, the sensor purpose is to immediately and automatically detect the breakage or stoppage of one or more yarns. The sensor will give the operator on duty an alarm with a visible LED flashing signal. It will simultaneously send out an electrical signal to the yarn cutter to cut off the broken yarn and grip the cut end, or send a digital signal to the PLC.
Textile sensors were prepared according to development steps previously described (usage of 842 tex GF/PP yarn, 957 tex GF/PA66 yarn, 831 tex GF yarn). For these tests, GF/PP and GF sensors with 5 + 2 twists of copper twisted wires were produced ( Fig. ), whereas GF/PA66 sensors with 3 twists of copper twisted wires according to composite development prestudies.
