Here's what I've found out by doing "my homework". So I grabbed my phone camera and I pointed my tv's remote towards it, pressed some buttons and the remote is indeed working properly, because I can see the IR blips of light through the camera's 'eye'. So the issue is the receiving end of it.
· In Search of an IR Blaster. Rather than replacing everything in my home it made sense to try and find something to control my existing stuff. The majority of things like my TV, amp, fireplace, and fan are all controlled by IR so I started looking for an IR blaster that would work with Apple's HomeKit. The only HomeKit compatible device I could find was BOND but that cost $99 and it's only ...
· I used an old 3-pin fan cable from a computer to wire up the IR sensor, I just plugged this straight into a header that I soldered on the board. You can see the whole assembly here. It is attached to power from the monitor, there are 3 transistors wired out to control the buttons on the monitor, and the IR sensor is attached at the base.

Wii Remote IR Camera Hack With Arduino Interface: We'll physically extract the IR camera from the Wii remote and interface it with an arduino controlling a servo. The Wii IR camera is a beautiful thing. It has an integrated processor which outputs the X and Y positions and size of the 4 brightest I…
· An IR emitter is perfectly seen by an IR sensor at night. Even beter than in the day because daylihgt contains a lot IR “noise”. You could mount the snsor and emitter next to each other and ...
More likely is IR sensors typically extend the on time and shrink the off time; my code tries to correct for this, but the correction factor could be different for your sensor. Unfortunately, there are a lot of variables to investigate. Also, try the circuit with your TV or stereo, to see if it works there. If you let me know what model satellite box you're trying to control, I could ...

· Infrared LEDs and receivers can be a great way to control a robot will create a home automation system but you need a library to simplify the coding process. In this tutorial we will give a brief explanation of how IR remotes work and show you how to use the IRLib library which makes it easy to send, receive, and decode IR signals.
In this tutorial I will also explain how to hack your own scanner. For this touch table, I used one CIS sensor with 24 IR LEDs. The object is detected on a 740x380mm surface by a Teensy board (which works under Arduino environnement). This board turns the IR LED ON, reads the CIS and calculates the exact position of an object.
The video demonstrates that the Wii ‘sensor bar’ is just an array of IR leds. The actual sensor is in the remote control – which probably sends data to the Wii via RF. These guys faked the ...
